There are sound issues with this episode. If you listen on it gets much better. I can't go back and fix it but the issue has been fixed in the next shows.
In this episode I read 2 essays that I wrote about my issues with my stash:
I will buy no more yarn (originally heard on Quirky Nomads)
How to de-stash
If you would like to see the entirety of my stash it is posted on my blog.

Hey Theresa
The last podcast you asked us to tell you about our relationship with stash. I don't have a microphone, but I am happy to write and tell you about my (lack of) stash.
I don't have a yarn stash as such. I have some oddballs of yarn left over from other projects, probably about 400 grams (if that). I don't buy yarn unless I have a project for it. And I have to say that I am lucky to have a relationship with my LYS that lets me put my yarn out the back of the shop and I take some as I need it. It works out well for me. It means that I don't spend money I oughtn't to spend, and yet I still get to knit as much as I want. I suppose I spend about $100NZ a month on yarn, which isn't a small amount by any means but it certainly could be a lot worse!
I think my relationship with yarn is alos impacted by my upbringing. I have to finish what I am working on before I can start another project. This has abated somewhat as my addiction to knitting has progressed, but I never have more than 3 projects on the go at any one time. And, occasionally I have to have a finishing time, in which I finish everything that is on the needles at that time.
Now while this all makes me sound like some kind of paragon of virtue, let me tell you about my relationship with spinnable fibre and spinning wheels! I learnt to spin over Christmas using a drop spindle. And yes, I love it. Since then I have managed to amass 3 spinning wheels and I suppose about 7 kilos of fibre. Yes, I do know who long that would take me to spin ( a long, long time) and yes, I still go looking on TradeMe (the New Zealand version of Ebay).
So while I might be a good girl when it comes to yarn. I am oh so very bad when it comes to fibre. I don't know why, but good gracious it is fun!

Hi Theresa,
sorry that I didn't get around to entering your contest. Don't drop it....make another one and I'll definitely make an effort to enter it.
Okay, my relationship with my stash? Well, I guess I love my stash. I went on a yarn diet earlier this year and notice my knitting mojo dwindle. So, as soon as I start feeding my stash again, I felt better. I mean, comparing to some knitters out there, my stash is nothing. ;-)
Looking forward to your next episode!
Ps. Can you please do something with the sound level? I mean, I don't know how to deal with it (yet), otherwise I'd have suggest. But usually when you talk alone, it's really quiet, but as soon as the fill-in song or song or interviews comes on, I have to make a scramble for the iPod to turn down the volume. It'd be great if you can watch out for that in the next episodes! Thanks a bunch!
Theresa, I think maybe you need to be closer to the microphone. Your voice volume makes your podcast episodes consistently difficult to listen to, but your content is good. I'm sure you'll figure it out as you go along, but it would be a shame to lose early listeners who might not come back.
Best of luck!
